That makes sense for the average person who just needs a quick wipe after a meal, to freshen up before a meeting, or to clean a kid\u2019s sticky hands at a playground.<\/p>\n

Next up: travel-sized packs. These are a little bigger than pocket packs, usually 7×8 inch wipes, and they\u2019re meant to go in a carry-on, a gym bag, or a work backpack. What\u2019s the count here? You\u2019ll see a lot of brands, including us, offering 20 to 30 counts in these packs. Why that range? A weekend trip might only need 5 wipes max, but a weekly gym routine or a month of back-to-back work trips means you don\u2019t want to restock tiny packs every other day. 25 is the sweet spot for a lot of people \u2014 it\u2019s enough to get you through a long trip without taking up too much space, and it\u2019s not so many that the pack feels heavy. We tested this with our own travel packs a couple years back; when we tried 40 wipes, people complained the pack was too big for their carry-on, and when we tried 15, it felt like they were running out halfway through a two-week trip. So we landed on 25, and that\u2019s still our best-selling travel pack.<\/p>\n

Wait, side note: personal care wipes have a shelf life, usually around two years unopened, so buying a 150-count pack if you only use a couple a week might not be the best call. That\u2019s a question we get all the time, too \u2014 people buying way more than they\u2019ll actually use before the wipes dry out.<\/p>\n

Now, a lot of folks ask: do generic packs (the store brand ones) have the same count as name brands? The short answer is usually, but not always. We worked with a big grocery chain last year to make their store-brand personal care wipes, and we kept the counts identical to their name-brand packs because that\u2019s what customers expect. But sometimes, budget brands will shave a wipe or two to cut costs \u2014 nothing major, like going from 100 to 98, but it adds up if you\u2019re buying the same pack every month. That\u2019s why it\u2019s always a good idea to glance at the fine print before you grab a pack, especially if you\u2019re buying in bulk.<\/p>\n

We also noticed a shift during the pandemic, when everyone was buying wipes by the case. Back in 2020, a lot of brands, ours included, bumped up the count in bulk packs to make them more worth it for people stocking up. We went from 100-count in-home packs to 120-count during that time, and a lot of people loved it \u2014 but once things calmed down, we went back to the original count because some customers said the 120 was too big to store under the sink.
